Definitions

Customer = Pet owner that is using Tassuvahti Oy’s pet service

Booking= A booking and payment via our calendar system online or a booking via email or phone

Pet = Customer’s pet, which is handed to Tassuvahti Oy for care

Tassuvahti Oy = The owners of Tassuvahti Oy and persons who have a contract with Tassuvahti Oy, and provide their pet services via Tassuvahti Oy

 

1. Need for customer information

By using the services of Tassuvahti Oy, the customer agrees to the care agreement and terms of use for Tassuvahti Oy’s pet service.

The customer can book a service without registering as a user. In that case, the customer shall still manually provide all needed information about the customer and the pet while making the booking.

The customer can create a user, if she/he wants to, by providing the needed information in the fields for registering as a user.

Tassuvahti Oy needs the customers actual contact information (name, phone number, post address and e-mail) and correct information about the pet (name, breed, possible allergies, illnesses and medication), in order to prepare for the care period as well as possible.

Tassuvahti Oy needs this information also when the customer has not registered as a user, but still makes a booking.

Tassuvahti Oy will not share the customers information with any third parties without consent. Only the customer and Tassuvahti Oy has access to said information.

 

2. Booking online

The customer can wish for a specific caretaker via the online booking system for their pet while booking a service. Please note that we cannot guarantee that the caretaker that you have wished for is available at that time, due to technical restrictions.

On the booking page the customer can check free dates, book a service for their pet for a certain period, and pay for the service. The payment will be debited from the customer’s credit card when the customer confirms their booking. Please note that at this time we only accept credit cards via our online system. Accepted credit cards are Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

 

3. Responsibility and terms of service

The customer guarantees that the provided information about them and their pet are correct. The customer also guarantees, that she/he is the owner of the pet, or has another legal right to leave the pet in the care of Tassuvahti Oy.

By booking and paying for a service, the customer agrees to the terms of use and is required to comply by them. By accepting a booking and a payment, Tassuvahti Oy is required to comply with the terms of use.

If the pet needs feeding during the care, the customer is responsible for having the feed available for the pet sitter during the care. Tassuvahti Oy is not responsible for costs regarding feed.

If the pet is injured or falls ill during the care period, Tassuvahti Oy has the right to take the pet to a veterinary station, unless Tassuvahti Oy cannot reach the customer or another contact person that the customer has mentioned before starting the care period, and they come to another agreement. In emergency situations Tassuvahti Oy will strive to get the proper care for the pet, and when the right time comes Tassuvahti Oy will notify the owner of the situation. The owner will however be notified as soon as possible.

Tassuvahti Oy has the right to charge the actual costs of the veterinary visit, and including possible travel costs.

Tassuvahti Oy is responsible for injuries or other situations and the expenses of them, if the situation happens in a way that Tassuvahti Oy could have influenced. Tassuvahti Oy will pay for possible veterinary fees up to 600,00 €, after which the customer is responsible for any fees.

Tassuvahti Oy is not responsible if the pet is infected with a contagious illness (for example kennel-cough, diarrhea or contaminated feces). Tassuvahti Oy is not responsible if the pet deceases due to a pre-existing illness or old age during the care period.

The booking fee shall be paid as soon as the booking is confirmed by the customer, if the booking is made online. If a booking is made via e-mail or phone, the invoice shall be paid within 14 days of the receiving of the invoice.

If the pet is not picked up at the agreed time (regarding the hourly and overnight care periods), Tassuvahti Oy has the right to charge the customer according to the prices that are in force at that time for the extra services. If the pet sitter who is taking care of the customer’s pet does not have the possibility to take care of the pet for an extended period of time, Tassuvahti Oy has the right to transfer the pet to another pet sitter. If no other pet sitter is available at that time, Tassuvahti Oy has the right to take the pet to a pet hotel or daycare to be taken care of, unless something else is agreed with the customer or another contact person defined by the customer. The customer will be notified of any changes immediately.

If the pet is not picked up and Tassuvahti Oy cannot reach the customer or another contact person defined by the customer, Tassuvahti Oy has the right to take care of the pet for the extended period of time. In that case, the customer will be invoiced according to the prices that are in force during that time. If Tassuvahti Oy cannot reach the customer or another contact person defined by the customer, and a new pick-up time is not agreed on, and Tassuvahti Oy does not have the possibility to take care of the pet for an extended period of time, Tassuvahti Oy reserves the right to take the pet to an animal shelter. In this case the customer is responsible for any fees that may occur regarding this, and the possible travel fees by Tassuvahti Oy. The customer will be notified of any changes immediately.

Tassuvahti Oy is insured with a liability insurance. The provider of the liability insurance is IF P&C Insurance.

If your pet sitter falls ill or cannot complete the service for another reason, Tassuvahti Oy has the right to replace the pet sitter with another pet sitter, and is responsible to notify the customer of this change immediately.

If the customer drops off or Tassuvahti Oy picks up the pet to the home of Tassuvahti Oy, if such has been agreed during the booking, the customer is responsible for any damage towards material possessions, persons, or third parties, excluding toys or other usable materials. These incidents are taken care of on a case-to-case basis together with the customer.

Tassuvahti Oy is responsible for any damages during the care period, that are a result of any action by the caretaker.

If the pet inflicts damage towards persons or other pets during the care period, Tassuvahti Oy is not responsible for these damages, unless they have occurred in a situation where Tassuvahti Oy was fully in control or could have influenced the situation somehow. These incidents are taken care of on a case-to-case basis together with the customer.

If the pet runs away during the care period, Tassuvahti Oy has the right to reclaim the pet from the find site, unless the customer and Tassuvahti Oy agree otherwise. If the pet runs away in a way that Tassuvahti Oy could have influenced, Tassuvahti Oy is responsible for any possible fees. If the pet runs away in a way that Tassuvahti Oy could not have influenced in any way (e.g. the leash breaks), the customer is responsible for all possible fees.

If an invoice is sent to the customer, and it is not paid on the due date, a penalty interest of 11% will be charged. Tassuvahti Oy charges 5,00 € for each payment reminder sent to the customer by mail. If the customer does not pay their invoice, Tassuvahti Oy has the right to refuse any future cares.

 

4. Cancelling a service

If a customer has booked a service for their pet, she/he can at any time cancel it. If the customer cancels the service over 12 hours before the start of the service, Tassuvahti Oy will refund 100% of the payment. If the service is cancelled less than 12 hours before the start of the service, Tassuvahti Oy will refund 50% of the payment. If a service is cancelled less than one (1) hour before the start of the service, no refund will be given. If a service has already started, and the customer cancels it, no refund will be given.

Tassuvahti Oy retains the right to cancel the service at any time. In this case Tassuvahti Oy will still provide for the already paid or booked services. If a situation occurs in which Tassuvahti Oy is not able to provide for the service that the customer has booked and paid for, Tassuvahti Oy will refund the service fully.

If the pet acts in a way that the safety of Tassuvahti Oy is threatened, the care will be cancelled. In these situations the customer will be notified immediately, and will receive a full refund on the care that has not taken place.

If you wish to receive the refund on another card or bank account than with which you paid the service, please specify where you wish to receive the refund at the same time you notify the cancellation. If no other bank account is disclosed while cancelling the service, the refund will be returned to the original payment channel used while making the booking. You should see the refund back on your account within 2-3 business days. If not, please contact us and we will try to solve the problem.

Cancellations can be made via e-mail or phone (text messages and calls).

If the customer has provided Tassuvahti Oy with the key to their home, Tassuvahti Oy is responsible to return the key after the completion of the service, unless other agreements have been made.

Tassuvahti Oy retains the right to change the terms of use at any time. The customer understands, that the new terms of use will be applicable during the next booking.

Tassuvahti Oy commits to follow the terms of use and to provide the agreed service according to the customers instructions and at the agreed time.
